Back to Springhill after a 4 week break and the pitch is the muddiest place in the world. Warming up was not fun.

Playing with Kilburn today was an absolute joy! Being surrounded by such talented and empowering women always makes rugby more fun to play. So thank you Kilburn for not losing an ounce of courage and determination today, you’re an absolute inspiration to be around.

Gladies were put in all sorts of positions today with forwards playing 9 and flankers playing centres. It was amazing to see the hard work finally showing.

Throughout the game every player gave it their all. The first half was dominated by Hackney starting their try scoring rampage within the first two minutes. The second half saw the traditionally placed ‘front five’ proving that they can have as much athleticism as the backs. With great carries and strong hits (probably conserved energy from the uncontested scrums) we saw Abbie scoring her first try for Hackney and representing the props on the top try scorer list.

On a sad note we said see ya later to a fantastic player today Nancy Alfaro who has been such a crucial player to our success this season. She has personally made me strive to be a more dynamic forward. The impact she has had on all of us will never be forgotten. We will all truly miss your kind heart. Come back soon
