The first truly chilly day of the season saw the Gogs truly thaw from their summer slumber.

A squad of 16 showed up to the furthest flung corner of the tube map (Zone 9 no less).

Playing into the wind the Gogs struggled to get momentum early on, and Chiltern Bashed it through the middle one two many times and crossed the line. 7-0 down after 5 mins. 10 mins later new comer Tim Horrocks replied when Hackney finally entered the Chiltern half.

Chiltern replied 5 mins later. The Hackney side forced a stalemate, rarely getting out of their half for the remaining 20 mins of the first half. 12-7 down at halftime hackney turned, backs to the wind, faces to the sun, and stuck to the game plan.

Coxy, Inspired at 10 reputedly pinned the Home side into their half, deep chasing from the enthusiastic hackney side repeatedly forced errors, which hackney capitalised. A try from Kazeem and a penalty from Coxy put hackney into the driving seat. They did not take their foot from the floor.

Rolfin & Aiden relentlessly put the 9 at 10 under too much pressure to clear their lines & Patch disrupting lineouts made a hard day worse for the Chiltern side.

In the Scrum, despite a few areal moments, Sam Joyce was solid as a rock in prop, and Rolfin hooking, stole plenty of opposition put-ins to relieve pressure and allow Hackney to attack. Trys Tim Horrocks again, Captain Eimhin, Andy Owen and Rolfin finished the game off. Hackney felt like they were playing like a proper team.

Motm: Sam Joyce, at scrum time didn’t falter.
As always Roflin was superb in the loose and tight. Tim Cox Kicked with precision from the ground and from hand again at 10.
