Hackney Rugby Club's annual 10s tournament - the Matt Elliott Cup, was held on Sunday amidst a tropical rain storm. A chance for old and new players to don their boots for a day of fun and frolics down at Springhill Park. With the use of several gazebos, the new changing rooms and plenty of food and drink, everyone's spirits were kept high throughout which made for a thoroughly entertaining day.

On 28th April, the 1st team are in the Middlesex Federation Vase Final. This will be away to Kilburn Cosmos, kick off 2pm. Everyone is welcome. 29th April is the date for the annual Matt Elliott Cup 10s day. This will be held in conjunction with the womens development day at our home ground. Please come along and support the day. The first game will be at about 12:30.

Interested in trying a new sport? Love rugby already? Come and join us at Springhill Sports Grounds in Hackney for a day of rugby on Sunday the 29th April. We will have some stellar coaches from top clubs around London. There will be a BBQ and refreshments and a chance to get fit, learn about rugby or learn even more about rugby.

Running a marathon has long been a dream of mine and I am finally stepping up to the plate by running the London Marathon in a few weeks time. I am running for Kith and Kids which is a charity that helps combat social exclusion in children with learning disabilities and in particular autism.

Please let anyone who was playing or might have been watching know. Unfortunately, both the 2nd XV fixture at home to Enfield and the Ladies fixture at home to Trojans have been cancelled by the opposition. They were both league games, so a 25-0 HWO will be awarded.

The crucial league game against Priorians was postponed last week and is due for this Saturday ( 11th February ). Looking out of your windows you'll notice a bit of snow. We have checked the pitch and, at the moment, it's playable. The only issue is to clear the snow.
